Greetings Ladies,

I hope that while reading this you’ll maintain an open mind and heart with plenty of understanding.  Being in prison, away from my loved ones is the most difficult test that I’ve encountered in my life, until love then heartbreak was added to this situation.  Now, my heart drops at the thought of offering it to another hand.  Right now, this is something I cannot do without my joints locking up and my body sweating as I extend my hand with fingers trembling in fear.  Handing my heart over without breaking it, like those who hurt me, seems almost impossible.  Therefore, choosing myself no longer feels like performing an exorcism, I’ve made peace with my demons.  Now it feels like love, when a person finds love for themselves, accepting the worst while hoping for better is no longer acceptable.

So, can we be friends, first, and truly see that through?  So many times, it’s been a goal of mine, but I let butterflies convince me to just go with the flow.  A current that seems to only take me down the streams of heartbreak.  This time around, I am not allowing myself to commit to anyone who can’t commit to building a friendship with me first.  So, let’s be friends who tell each other everything and not just the good things.  Let’s exercise mutual respect for each other.  Let’s share our thoughts, beliefs, opinions, life experiences, goals and intentions.  Let’s be honest and open with each other and elevate friendship to new heights.  If you’re reading this and you’re not afraid of taking a chance, friendship, consistency, honesty, trust and the willingness to exceed all expectations, then there’s a friend for you in me.
