Dear Friends,

My name is Tony, and I was born and raised in a city about 60 mines north of Chicago – called Waukegan.  Now, before I go any further, I need to be totally honest with you.  This isn’t some hobby or a game for me.  I’m not looking to kill or waste yours.  I am asking anyone that honors me with a response to please keep that in mind.  With that said, let me tell you a little about myself.

Obviously, I enjoy writing, but not just corresponding.  I write short stories, poems and essays on different subjects, such as crime and punishment; prison reform; politics; and of course, love and romance.  In fact, I’m a published writer and poet.

It’s safe to assume that if I enjoy writing, I probably enjoy reading.  I do.  A friend of mine suggested that I read “Les Misérables” and I intend on tackling that soon.  My taste in books – like my taste in music – is eclectic.  I’m as comfortable with a sci-fi / fantasy novel as I am with a romance novel.  Some might even describe me as a hopeless romantic (smile).

Speaking of my eclectic taste in music, I can listen to most anything and everything.  My current play list includes, but is not limited to artists such as Chris Stapleton, The Weekend, Demi Lovato, Beyonce’, Maxwell, Sam Smith, Lily Rose, Rotimi, Johnny Mathis and yes, a touch of Taylor Swift, to name more that just a few.  Yeah, I know, I’m all over the map musically.  When I say eclectic, I do mean eclectic. LOL!

Yet, one of the most fulfilling things in my life is making a new and valued friend.  Friendship is one of the few refuges that have made this ordeal bearable over the years.  Though I am physically inside a cell, a good friendship is capable of helping me mentally escape this cold and bleak environment.  So, here I am once again, seeking to expand my little world by meeting a few new people and making a few new friends – from all over and from all walks of life.  I love learning about different peoples, cultures, lifestyles, and perspectives, including yours, which is why I’ve decided to post this profile.

I strongly believe that good thoughts and actions can never produce bad results; just as bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results.  So, I am introducing myself with good thoughts and the best of intentions, with the hope that if someone chooses to respond, it will be in kind – with the best of intentions.

I’m an open-minded person, and I have no outrageous expectations with this.  Though I do hope to make good friends.  I do not discriminate.  I am not hung up on age, race, gender, or orientation.  The only thing I insist upon is sincerity.

Wherever you are and whoever you are, I can’t know what you’re looking for or what you’re thinking, but if you would like something as beautiful as sincere friendship, you needn’t look any further.  The door is open.  You can choose to walk through it, or you can choose to remain a captive of your own fear, doubt, suspicion, but I hope you won’t, because that would truly be a shame – and a loss for the both of us.

Patiently Waiting,

Tony

P.S. The poet, Lord Byron, once said that “Letter writing is the only device for combining solitude with good company”.
